In anticipation of this year’s Emmy’s, here’s a recap of the
best & the worst dressed at last year’s Emmy Awards.
First, the beautiful
Heidi Klum in an Alexander Vaulthier dress. Can you believe it that she is a
mother of two? Or more? The hair, the
dress, the high heels, all ooze of elegance! There’s no way she could top this
look, ever!
My next favourite girl on the red carpet would be Kat
Dennings in a hot red J. Mendel dress. I agree its a little bit slutty but,
there are 3 things I like about her in this dress. One is, that she looks so
confident, she looks like she owns the red carpet. And the other two, need I mention?
;-)
Now, this one’s my personal favourite. It’s definitely a
very unique Monique Lhuillier dress and what’s more, its orange! I love it that
she has paired the perfect pair of Christian Louboutin shoes with this dress.
If I had my way, I would have those puppies stocked, in every shade in my
closet. The only thing I don’t like
about this whole look is Ginnifer Goodwin. I bet Lucy Hale would have rocked
this dress.
Sofia Vergara in a Zuhair Murad dress totally rocked it. I think it was because of her that it was so hot at the Nokia theatre. I mean, when she shook her booty for the cameras; wow! Someone would have thought that the dress would be too tacky for a 40 year old, but no, she proved us all wrong.
Moving on, we have Tina Fey in burgundy. She’s wearing a
dress by Vivienne Westwood.
I always thought of Tina, as a plain Jane from 30 Rock, but
she completely wowed us here!
Next, we have Sarah Hyland in Marchesa. She’s young, so she
could have chosen a funkier color, although she looks great in this evening
gown. Her hair look perfect, and the dress fits her so well. She collaborated
with Marchesa to design this dress.
Now, frankly speaking, I did not like what Claire Danes was
wearing at the Emmy’s. I am sure that, if she weren’t preggers, she would have
been trashed by the critics for wearing this Lanvin frock. But, look at her I
mean, this not a color that everyone can pull off! Plus, you can’t even make
out that she is pregnant.
Padmalaxmi did a great job covering herself up in 45 yards
of silk. I mean, I know she is from India, so gotta do due diligence and plus
she can buy all the silk in the world with her alimony money, but she could
have done better. She could have worn something fresher or a cooler colr. Anyways, she deserves
a mention as she totally worked this look on the red carpet. That sums up the best dressed list. Now, here come the worst dressed.
Up, first is Christina Hendricks in a Christian Siriano . At
first, I didn’t recognize her. I thought to myself, oh my god, how did one of
Hugh Hefner’s Playboy bunnies make it to the red carpet. And then it struck me,
who it was. I mean come on Christina, you are the star of a leading show, you
can get enough material to cover yourself up!
We all know, you have been greatly endowed, but the red
carpet is not the best place to show those off! A lot of critics loved her
dress, but all I thought was how trashy that dress is.Next is the Rageddy Ann doll umm.. pardon me, Zoey Deschanel in a Reem Acra dress. I mean either she got into a cat fight right before the Emmy’s or she’s trying to land a part in the next Raggedy Ann movie. And what’s with all that mascara/goop.
Emily Vancamp in a J. Mendel dress. She’s so pretty, and
young. Why, why would you wear a dress like that, which does nothing to
accentuate your figure? Please go ahead, and join the raggetty old maid’s club
with Zoey.
Does anyone need gunny bags? Anybody? At all? Well, if you
do, you might wanna ask Portia De Rossi for some. Apparently she has so many of
them stocked in her garage, that she thought she would make a red carpet dress
out of those.Next is the gorgeous Nicole Kidman in an Antonio Berardi gown. Now, why would she wear a flashy, teenagesque dress? As if her plastic surgeries don’t make her feel young enough?
Next is Christina Baranski in a “I don’t care if you call me a hooker” dress. This dress is so not age appropriate. Its too short, too flashy for a 60 year old.
